Martin Brown, Managing Director Herbert Group Ltd:

Spending two days away with other chief executives on a programme structured around meditation and kung fu left me with a real clarity of mind. It enabled me to sift through and consolidate my thinking over the past few months. I now have a clear vision of the future and what needs to be done. A really important part of the experience was the fun and camaraderie generated.

Vandy Massy:

The 2 day retreat was a great opportunity to get away from the 'coalface' and into a completely different environment with lots of thinking time. The techniques we used for reflection were extremely powerful and unlike many training days I have been on, these have stayed with me after the event and I still make use of the Morning Pages now. This was a great way for me to see my business from a new perspective. Very powerful and productive two days.

Clive Thomas:

When it was first suggested that the ABL group go on a retreat involving Kung fu and meditation, I confess to some doubts about the usefulness of the idea. However two of the group, for whom I have much respect revealed to my surprise they had been meditating for years, so I signed up. My doubts were soon brushed aside. I had previously treated as a virtue; my constant activity, always trying to deliver results, learn, improve being constantly on the move. So it was quite an epiphany to discover the massive value of stillness, of thinking of nothing. Much more than mere relaxation, meditation has now reduced my stress levels and, I think, made me a little easier to live with both at home and at work. It also cuts away the 'noise' and allows me to concentrate on the things that matter most, both at home and at work. I now meditate daily. My only regret is that it took me 51 years to discover it.

Lucy Morrice, PEP Talks!

...the benefits of Wing Chun hit me in the face (almost literally) straight away and, apart from enjoying it immensely, I felt there were lots of tangible correlations between Wing Chun and personal business excellence.  Get out of the boardroom and spend a few hours focused on your personal effectiveness with a fresh and dynamic approach.  You’ll feel a little different to the day before and you’ll be a little different the day after.

... think of meditation and you may visualise lotus flowers, sandals, beards, ‘love and peace’ and aromatic substances.  Think again... this sort of meditation is a powerful and proven technique for calmly and easily minimising the grinding effects of everyday business pressure, let alone your blood pressure!  A few minutes of daily meditation can improve your clarity, your mood and yes... your health.  And like any good business training, it has an immediate positive effect.
