Little Dragons
Programme Outline:The Little Dragons classes continue in the same direction as the Tiny Tigers in that a significant proportion of the class is devoted to implicit learning through fun games and play. We believe that most people learn best through play and certainly at this age we feel this is true. We want the children to learn to be able to focus and be self disciplined when necessary, and relaxed and uninhibited at other times.
Cambridge Kung Fu Little Dragons builds on the core skills of confidence, fun, and movement started in the Tiny Tigers, and begins to introduce a concept which continues through into the Junior Warriors programme. This concept is the idea of educating the children about martial arts in general as opposed to one in particular. We believe at this age we are still very much building core skills and resources, rather than specific concepts that apply to combat. Grading:The children learn martial arts forms from a series of different martial arts. They will learn stances and attacking and defensive techniques specific to that martial art, as well as learn where the martial art comes from and a little bit about the culture of that country that produced the martial art in question. We teach the martial arts in a rotating syllabus, spending three months on each martial art and learning a form, which the children are graded on. If they pass the grading they receive a badge to sew on their Kung Fu suit and a certificate.
