Our Instructors will run an hour of activities that represent the most energetic and lively parts of our classes. In general we play our Kung Fu games that are physical and different to typical party games. Depending on what the birthday boy or girl wants, and depending on the ages of the party guests, we may teach the kids some cool Kung Fu moves that they can then practice during the games. We try to fit as much as we can into the hour, aiming to make it as fun as possible and ensuring we always try to include the games and activities that the birthday child likes the most! We conclude the hour with a mini ceremony where we present all the kids with a Certificate to take home and the birthday child gets a special Certificate and a Badge.

Every child is different and so every party is different as we tailor the activities to suit the birthday boy or girl. We are able to accommodate a lot of different things and so we encourage you to get in touch if you are interested or have any questions.

The first step towards booking a Kids Birthday Party with Cambridge Kung Fu is filling out a Birthday Party Request Form. Use this form to give us as much information as possible about what you, and the birthday boy or girl, require. You do not need to have all the details confirmed to fill out the request form, we'll be in touch to clarify any information or help you to make any decisions.

Once we receive the Birthday Party Request Form we can check the availability of our Instructors, and venues if necessary, and then liaise with you to get the party booked.

Once you have filled out a Birthday Party Request Form we will let you know if we need any extra information, but here are a few things for you to think about...

We provide 1 hour of activities and have found that it works well if you hire a venue for 2 or 2.5 hours, so we can run the activities for the first hour and then the birthday boy or girl, and their guests, can have food etc. afterwards.

We find that between 15 and 20 kids makes for a good party, although we are able to handle more or fewer than this, we just need to know in advance so we can be prepared.

If the birthday child attends our classes then we will do our best to get the Instructors of their choice to run their party. (There is a space on the Birthday Party Request Form to request Instructors).

We are able to run a party at any location in and around Cambridge that has suitable space, so you are more than welcome to hire a venue yourself (although please check our availability via the Request Form before booking). If you prefer, we are able to book our most popular party venue (The Gallery at Hills Road Sports and Tennis Centre) at a slightly discounted rate which we would then add on to the cost of the party (Roughly £21.50 per hour). If you would like us to book the venue on your behalf then please indicate this on the Birthday Party Request Form and include your preferred dates and times. Once you have made this request we will confirm the cost of the venue with yourself before booking.

If you book the venue yourself then we may need to confirm it's suitability with you if we have not previously used it for any of our classes or parties. Depending on the amount of kids attending the party, the venue would need to be a minimum of roughly 10m x 6m. It doesn't have to be a sports hall, but please bear in the mind that many of our games are energetic and involve gym balls flying around. Therefore fragile fixtures and fittings are not ideal. Please note, as we are based in central Cambridge there may be a travel fee for venues that are outside of Cambridge, just to cover the expense of getting the instuctors to the party and back again.

 

Our parties cost £100 exclusive of venue hire and any travel fee.

As the children will be partaking in lots of physical activities we advise that it's best they come to the party wearing loose fitting clothes such as shorts or tracksuit trousers to help them stay comfortable during the party. We do our activities bare foot so it doesn't matter what they have on their feet.

 

We will bring all the necessary equipment needed for our activities as well as the Certificates and Birthday Badge. Every party guest will receive a Certificate and the birthday boy or girl will receive a special Certificate and a Badge. Please be aware that we may give you the Birthday Party Certificates to complete during the party unless you can provide us with a list of names in advance.

It is useful if you have drinks of water available during our activities so we can give the party guests a few drinks breaks to cool down between games.

We are always careful to ensure that everything we do at a Kung Fu Birthday Party is appropriate for the group of children who are attending. During Birthday Parties we focus on the games from our regular classes, and if we do teach any Kung Fu moves, we will always pick simple, fun moves and ensure we are clear about when it is and isn't ok to use their Kung Fu on other people. We are particularly mindful of the way we introduce Kung Fu to those children that we do not regularly teach.

Sundays and School Holidays are the best times to hold a Cambridge Kung Fu Birthday Party as this is when we have the most Kids Instructors available, however we will consider any date and try to make it possible.

We find that it works best if you book your child's Kung Fu Birthday Party so that it finishes at either lunchtime or late afternoon, then the children can have food afterwards. However, this is entirely up to you and we are completely flexible on timings.

Our Birthday Parties are very popular, and we run lots of other children's and adults workshops, therefore our weekends can become booked up very quickly. Please make sure you plan ahead to avoid disappointment!
