After School Classes
The Schools where we currently teach after school clubs are; St Faiths Prep., The Perse Prep., Perse Upper School, Linton Infants School, Linton Heights and Linton Village College. Programme Outline:The Cambridge Kung Fu 'After School Programme' teaches children about martial arts, plus all the social, emotional, mental, and physical benefits that come from martial arts training. We aim to teach children as children, and as such our classes look somewhat different to what many people may think of as a martial arts class, discipline is still maintained in our classes, and we have clear boundaries and consequences for crossing those boundaries. However, our long term goal is to inspire the children and to teach them the benefits that comes from self discipline, which will enable them to achieve their goals, as opposed to discipline enforced from above, where the results are more short term. We allow the children to engage in martial arts training, learning the stances and techniques, whilst playing our unique games that aim to build confidence, balance, evasive manoeuvring and awareness of their surroundings, all whilst having lots of fun! Grading:The children learn martial arts forms from a series of different martial arts, they will learn stances and attacking/defensive techniques specific to that martial art, and they will also learn where the martial art comes from, and a little bit about the history and special features of the martial art in question. We teach the martial arts in a rotating syllabus spending a term on each martial art and learning a form, which the children are graded on. If they pass the grading they receive a badge to sew on their Kung Fu suit and a certificate. Classes:

If you are unable to make our regular classes (Tigers, Dragons, Warriors, YKF) but you would like your child to train Kung Fu with us, please get in touch with us and we will see if we can make it happen. Please contact us on 01223 368 229 or email Ross, our chief instructor at ross@cambridgekunngfu.com for further information regarding our children's Kung Fu classes. |
